MISSION

The mission of the department is:

• To provide higher education in Botany to the poor people of the surrounding undeveloped area, particularly the Tea tribes which is a major part of the population of the sub-division where the college is situated.

• To create an academic atmosphere in this region.

• To develop human resources in the field of Herbal medicine, Horticulture, Floriculture, etc.

• To create awareness about the conservation of forests, wildlife and spreading of knowledge about pollution.

VISION

The vision of the department is: 

• To create awareness among the students of the college and the people of the surrounding locality about the plant resources found in this area.

• To take up Minor research projects and Major research projects relating to Tea gardens, sericulture, Ethnobotany, etc.

• To organize seminars, symposiums, workshops, etc. to spread awareness for Bio-diversity conservation in this area.
• To spread knowledge of sustainability and the conservation of the environment.
