The Department of English is established with a mission to provide students with an education of high quality in English. It is set to make students convergent with the English language and literature written in English. It seeks to familiarize the students from diverse backgrounds-geographical, cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds. It encourages students to acquire the skills of communication, spoken and written, throughout  their courses, Major, Minor, AEC, SEC so as to enable them to use English effectively and confidently and also enjoy and interpret literature in all its genres.

   The vision of the Department is to offer students adequate communication and literary skills to prepare themselves for their better professional, social, intellectual and cultural life in today’s globalized world so that they can help the society in the best possible way.
